Felix Auger-Aliassime is into the Round of 16 at the Swiss Indoors in Basel.
The Montreal, Que., native defeated Argentina's Sebastian Baez 7-5, 6-1 in the hard court tournament on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old delivered eight aces and converted three of four breakpoint attempts in the win at the St. Jakobshalle. Baez did not convert any of his two breakpoint attempts. Auger-Aliassime won 21 receiving points, while his opponent scored on only nine.
The 19th-ranked Canadian will play Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, No. 50, on Thursday.
