Canada's run at the 2024 Little League World Series has come to an end.
The Whalley Little Leaguers from Surrey, B.C., lost in their third game in Williamsport, Pa., 8-0 to Mexico on Sunday, knocking them out of the double-elimination tournament.
Mexico took a 3-0 lead in the first inning, getting to Canadian starter Blake Anderson with five hits in the frame.
Canada managed two hits in the contest, with Ronan Bobiles and Eric Popovich picking up singles in the loss.
After dropping its tournament opener 8-0 to Asia-Pacific on Wednesday, Canada responded with a 12-5 win over Puerto Rico on Saturday. In the victory, Canada poured in 12 runs in the second inning, with Anderson and Popovich driving in two apiece.
Mexico will now move on to face the loser of Asia-Pacific and Cuba on Tuesday.
The tournament continues through Aug. 25.
