Lefty pitcher Jackson Soucie from the Wabash Valley Warriors was named the top Canadian college player after posting a dominant season in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
The Cambridge, Ont., native received 39 of 55 first-place votes from a panel of scouts, coaches, executives, former players and baseball writers.
In his sophomore year at Wabash Valley in Mount Carmel, Ill., the 21-year-old made 14 starts, posting an 8-2 record with a 2.18 ERA and 98 strikeouts over 70.1 innings pitched. He was named the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region 24 Pitcher of the Year.
