Blue Jays assign Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio to minor-league camp

The Toronto Blue Jays have assigned Bo Bichette, Cavan Biggio and Shawn Morimando to minor-league camp.

Bichette hit .417/.475/.833 along with four home runs, three doubles and five RBI in spring training with the Blue Jays. The 21-year-old was selected in the second round of the MLB draft back in 2016 and was named Minor League Baseball’s top offensive player for 2017.

Biggio, had a .243/.317/.432 slash line with two home runs and seven RBI in 37 at-bats this spring. He was selected in the fifth round of the MLB draft back in 2016 and enjoyed a breakout season in double-A hitting 26 home runs and 99 RBI in 132 games.

Both prospects are expected to start the season in triple-A Buffalo.

In six spring training games, Morimando posted a 12.46 ERA with five strikeouts in 4.1 innings pitched.
