What a time to be a Toronto sports fan.
The Blue Jays are back in the playoffs for the first time in 22 years, the new-look Maple Leafs got their season underway Wednesday, Toronto FC is on the verge of qualifying for the MLS post-season for the first time in franchise history, the Raptors are getting ready for a new season and the Argos are coming off a dramatic comeback win. (Shout-out to Chad Owens for his incredible catch on Tuesday.)
Of all the sports items mentioned above, the Blue Jays’ playoff undertaking is by far the most compelling, and several members of the team spent Wednesday night at the Leafs season opener where they were given custom jerseys.
There has been plenty of interaction between the Blue Jays, Maple Leafs and the other Toronto teams over the years — just ask Joe Carter — but it really has been a love-fest of sorts lately among Toronto’s teams.
