Blue Jays’ Bo Bichette sets MLB record for consecutive games with double

Bo Bichette has been in the big leagues for less than two weeks but has already set an MLB record.

The Toronto Blue Jays shortstop hit an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning Thursday against the New York Yankees for his ninth consecutive game with a double.

Bichette, 21, was making his home debut after starting his MLB career on the road. He had fans on their feet an inning earlier by hitting his fourth home run of the season.

Entering Thursday, Bichette had 18 hits in 44 at-bats, good for a .409 average.
