The Toronto Blue Jays have designated right-handed pitcher Edwin Jackson for assignment after struggling through eight appearances with the team.
Jackson posted a 1-5 record with a 11.12 earned-run average this season with the Blue Jays, who acquired him from the Oakland Athletics in May.
The 35-year-old was recently activated off the injured list after dealing with a lower back strain.
Toronto recalled right-hander Jacob Waguespack in a corresponding move and he will start Tuesday’s matchup against the Boston Red Sox.
