Right-handed pitcher Nick Kingham was designated for assignment by the Toronto Blue Jays on Thursday with left-hander Thomas Pannone recalled in a corresponding move.
Kingham appeared in 10 games for Toronto after being acquired from the Pittsburgh Pirates in June for cash.
He posted a 2-1 record with a 3.50 earned-run average over 18 innings with the Blue Jays along with a 1.61 WHIP.
Pannone was recalled for the fourth time this season from triple-A Buffalo and will start Thursday’s afternoon game against the Boston Red Sox. He made it to Boston in time after having his flight from Buffalo cancelled.
In 24 games, including two starts, the 25-year-old Pannone has a 2-3 record and 6.18 ERA over 39.1 innings.
Ryan Borucki’s next start will come at the MLB level per Charlie Montoyo
Would either be Sunday (regular rest) or Monday (to give him & others an extra day) #BlueJays
