The Toronto Blue Jays have made it official, selecting the contract of infielder Cavan Biggio, as well as recalling Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Thomas Pannone to the major-league club.

Biggio, who will be making his MLB debut Friday, was originally drafted as a second baseman but has played every infield spot except shortstop on his way up to the majors.

Gurriel opened the season as the Blue Jays’ second baseman but was optioned to Buffalo after being pulled from an April 14 game against Tampa.

Additionally, the Blue Jays have officially added left-handed pitcher Zac Rosscup to the MLB roster after claiming him on waivers from Seattle on Thursday.

As a result of calling up Biggio, left-handed pitcher Ryan Feirabend has been designated for assignment, while both infielder Richard Ureña and outfielder Billy McKinney have been sent to triple-A.

Rounding out the flurry of roster announcements, right-handed pitcher Elvis Luciano has been placed on the bereavement list.
