The Toronto Blue Jays have promoted left-handed pitcher T.J. House from triple-A Buffalo.

House has started 23 games for the Bisons in 2017, pitching to a 4.27 ERA. He figures to be used out of the bullpen if John Gibbons needs an arm to eat innings.

The 27-year-old has appeared in 27 contests at the MLB level, with all of those coming with the Cleveland Indians from 2014-16.

Reliever Tim Mayza was optioned to create space on the roster for House.

Toronto resumes a weekend series with the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field Saturday at 2:20 p.m. ET. Nick Tepesch draws the start for the Blue Jays with the Cubs countering with Jose Quintana. Watch the game live on Sportsnet or stream it on Sportsnet NOW.
