Blue Jays’ Randal Grichuk leaves game with apparent head injury

Watch as Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Randal Grichuk is injured sliding into foul territory to make a catch.

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Randal Grichuk exited Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Indians after sliding into a metal stool attempting to make a catch.

Grichuk is undergoing the concussion evaluation with team medical staff.

Taking place during the top of the fourth inning, Grichuk was coming in from right field into foul territory and slid in to try to get to the ball but ended up hitting his head onto the metal stool a Rogers Centre security guard was sitting on.

He remained down for a little while as Blue Jays trainers came out to check on him before getting up leaving the game under his own power.

Entering Sunday’s contest, Grichuk was batting .248/.304/.490 with 21 home runs and 51 RBIs in 401 plate appearances.
