Blue Jays sign eighth-round pick Philip Clarke for $500K

The Toronto Blue Jays have signed Vanderbilt catcher Philip Clarke, their eighth-round pick (No. 267 overall) in last month’s MLB draft, reports Sportsnet’s Ben Nicholson-Smith.

Clarke, who was the Jays’ last remaining unsigned player in their top-10, will receive $500,000. The assigned value for his pick was $154,900.
