The Toronto Blue Jays have signed right-handed pitcher Anthony Bass to a one-year, $1.5 million contract, the team announced Tuesday.

Bass, who was claimed off waivers from the Seattle Mariners in October, was eligible for arbitration this season.

The 32-year-old has a 4.38 career ERA and 1.35 WHIP over eight seasons with five different teams. Last year, with the Mariners, he posted a 3.56 ERA, and 43 strikeouts with 19 home runs allowed over 48 innings.
