It’s May 14, 2018, and that means Roy Halladay would’ve turned 41 on this day.
But even though he’s no longer of this world that doesn’t mean he’s been forgotten.
On Monday, Braden Halladay, Roy’s 17-year-old son tweeted out a heartfelt birthday message to his late father, thanking him for watching over him even now.
Happy Birthday Dad! Thank you for being my best friend and mentor Thanks for watching over me and I can’t wait to see you again! pic.twitter.com/1q9jIGn5us

Roy died on Nov. 7, 2017 when the plane he was piloting crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. He was 40.
Braden was born in Toronto and is among Canada’s top young pitching prospects. This past spring he pitched two scoreless innings against the Toronto Blue Jays while playing for the Canadian Junior National Team.
He wasn’t the only person to send birthday wishes to Roy Monday though, as fans and even the Philadelphia Phillies, one of his former teams, took to Twitter to send him well wishes.
Remembering Roy today on what would have been his 41st birthday.

Strangely enough though, the Blue Jays, the team Halladay began his MLB career with and played 12 of his 16 big league seasons with, was silent on his birthday on social media.
