MILWAUKEE (AP) — Relief pitcher Randy Choate and the Milwaukee Brewers agreed to a one-year contract Wednesday.
Choate’s split contract would pay him US$500,000 in the majors and $75,000 in the minors.
The 32-year-old left-hander made two appearances for the Arizona Diamondbacks this season. He was 3-1 with a 2.98 ERA in 55 games at triple-A Tucson.
Choate, who has spent parts of eight seasons in the majors, has a career record of 5-7 with a 4.64 ERA in 196 appearances with the New York Yankees and Arizona.
