Cito Gaston, who managed the Toronto Blue Jays to back-to-back World Series championships in 1992 and 1993, will throw out the first pitch before Game 1 of the American League Division Series Thursday.

Sportsnet has confirmed the news, which was first reported by the Toronto Star.

The Blue Jays have announced plans to recognize their 2015 AL East title before first pitch against the Texas Rangers at Rogers Centre Thursday. By winning the division, Toronto ended a 22-year playoff drought dating back to the days of Gaston, Joe Carter and Roberto Alomar.
