Hamstring sends Jays Hill to disabled list

TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have placed second baseman Aaron Hill on the 15-day disabled list with a hamstring injury.

Manager Cito Gaston says the team wants to be cautious with the all-star player and not risk further damage.

John McDonald and Mike McCoy will share duties at second until Hill returns.

Outfield Jeremy Reed was also brought up from triple-A Las Vegas prior to Monday’s home opener against the Chicago White Sox.
