Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association announced that there were seven positive COVID-19 tests recorded across the league in the past week. That number includes three players and four staff members, while five of the seven were MLB club personnel and two were alternate site personnel.

In total, 12,485 COVID-19 testing samples were recorded over the last week.

Since MLB and the MLBPA began testing players every other day in July, 78,612 samples have been collected and 82 have been positive, including 54 players. Those 84 positive tests have occurred among 19 teams.

Most recently, the New York Mets have had to postpone at least two games after two individuals in the organization tested positive this week. Additionally, the Pittsburgh Pirates announced Thursday that president Travis Williams had tested positive.
