The Atlanta Braves would look to hire Alex Anthopoulos for their vacant general manager position, should the team be unable to convince Dayton Moore to leave the Kansas City Royals, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
The Braves have been without a GM ever since John Coppolella resigned on Oct. 2 after MLB found proof of significant international market infractions Atlanta made with regards to free agents.
Anthopoulos has been the vice-president of baseball operations for the Los Angeles Dodgers since Jan. 12, 2016, but spent six years as GM of the Blue Jays from 2009-15.
He played a big part in rebuilding the team’s farm system before fielding Toronto’s first 90-win team since 1993.
Moore has been with the Royals since 2006 and helped build a team that had back-to-back World Series appearances, winning the championship in 2015.
The Braves are coming off their fourth straight losing season.
