The St. Louis Cardinals are being investigated by the FBI and U.S. Justice Department prosecutors for hacking into the internal networks of the Houston Astros, the New York Times is reporting.

Evidence has been uncovered allegedly indicating that Cardinals officials hacked into a specially-built database housing sensitive information about player personnel.

MLB is aware of the situation.

“Major League Baseball has been aware of and has fully cooperated with the federal investigation into the illegal breach of the Astros’ baseball operations database,” MLB said in a written statement. “Once the investigative process has been completed by federal law enforcement officials, we will evaluate the next steps and will make decisions promptly.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of the Astros’ organization getting hacked, as just last year internal trade talks were leaked and published onto the internet.

The Cardinals and Astros were National League Central division rivals from 1994 to 2012.
