DETROIT — The Detroit Tigers will try to win again without Miguel Cabrera in the starting lineup.
Cabrera isn’t starting Saturday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox. He’s played only three games since leaving in the fifth inning July 22 at Chicago with a left hip problem. He’s also been bothered by a strained lower abdomen.
The Tigers haven’t missed a beat without their slugging third baseman. They’ve won 10 of 11 since July 21, heading into Saturday’s game.
Jose Iglesias is starting at third base instead of Cabrera, and he’ll bat seventh. Outfielder Matt Tuiasosopo takes over the No. 3 spot in the batting order, where Cabrera usually hits.
