A pack of “Ted Williams condoms” made by National Hygienic Products, recently sold on Ebay, for $99.99.
The unusual sport collectable — as rare as a Honus Wagner baseball card — contains three condoms. Named “Champ Prophylactics”, they were released in the 1950s with an unauthorized photo of Williams stolen from a 1954 Topps baseball card, according to the Ebay post.
The post also states that Williams, who went by nicknames such as “The Splendid Splinter”, “Teddy Ballgame” and “The Thumper”, filed a lawsuit to stop production of the condoms.
