Former Duke point guard Shayeann Day-Wilson announced on Twitter that she is set to transfer to the University of Miami after spending the past two years with the Blue Devils.
The Toronto native joined Duke ahead of the 2021-2022 season, earning All-ACC freshman honours her first year. She averaged 10.2 points, 3.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds in her time in Durham, N.C.
Duke, a third-seed, was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament in the Round of 32 with a 61-53 overtime loss to sixth-seeded Colorado.
Miami, meanwhile, enjoyed its best-ever run in the NCAA Tournament, ending with a 54-42 loss in the Elite Eight to eventual champion LSU. The Hurricanes qualified for the tournament as a ninth-seed, finishing 22-13 on the year and seventh in the ACC.
The transfer means Day-Wilson will stay in the same conference
The five-foot-six guard will have a chance of slotting into a starting position in Miami, replacing last year's transfers Haley and Hanna Cavinder, who announced their departure from the team after spending one season there.
Day-Wilson joins fellow Torontonian Latasha Lattimore, who appeared in nine games for the Hurricane last season. They played together on the gold medal-winning Canada women's U23 team at GLOBL JAM in 2022.
