Canadian hoopers are excelling in the NCAA this season.
Milton, Ont. born guard Jasmine Bascoe scored a season-high 26 points while adding four rebounds and four assists in Villanova’s win over Saint Josephs on Sunday.
Bascoe, 18, leads the Wildcats in both scoring and assists with averages of 15.4 and 4.6, respectively.
The five-foot-seven freshman played her high school basketball at Kings Christian Collegiate in Oakville, Ont. and has also competed for the U18 Women’s National team.
Bascoe is one of many Canadians excelling in NCAA basketball this season, including Illinois’ Will Riley and Notre Dame’s Cassandre Prosper – sister to the Dallas Mavericks Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
