Bridget Carleton scored 28 points as the Canadian women’s basketball team wrapped up its FIBA World Cup 2022 qualifying tournament with a 96-64 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday in Osaka, Japan.

It was the first win for new Canadian coach Victor Lapeña, whose team dropped an 86-79 overtime decision to Japan in its opener.
Belarus pulled out of the qualifying tournament before it started, giving automatic World Cup berths to the three remaining teams for the September event in Australia.
Carleton, from Chatham, Ont., was 11-of-12 from the field and added six rebounds on Saturday.
Natalie Achonwa had 21 points and eight rebounds, while Kayla Alexander had 14 points and seven rebounds.
Canada shot 60 per cent from the field and held its opponent to 39.7 per cent.
