CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Down to 12 healthy players, the Charlotte Bobcats have signed small forward Jamario Moon for the rest of the season.
The 6-foot-8 Moon fills the roster spot created when Charlotte cut Boris Diaw last month. A four-year NBA veteran, Moon has spent time with Toronto, Miami, Cleveland and the Los Angeles Clippers. This season he averaged 17.7 points in the NBA’s development league for the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
The move Saturday helps fill the void left by injuries to Corey Maggette and Eduardo Najera, who are out for the season. Maggette strained his Achilles tendon, while Najera broke a bone in his forehead.
Moon is expected to join the Bobcats (7-51) for Sunday night’s home game against the Boston Celtics.
