Gotta See It: Sudbury’s Jordan Kilganon recreates Gordon’s contest dunks

6’1” Sudbury, ON native Jordan Kilganon is widely considered perhaps the best competition dunker on Earth right now. You may remember him from NBA All-Star weekend, when he stunned the NBA stars with this ridiculous jam during a TV timeout (in jeans, no less):

Or perhaps you first learned his name a couple years back when his newly-invented “Scorpion Dunk” became a viral sensation.

Needless to say, he hasn’t slowed since, adding to his repertoire seemingly every day. When I spoke to him a couple months back, Kilganon told me he has a Word document on his computer with literally hundreds of dunk ideas, a list of feats as unfathomable as a double-between-the-legs-360 dunk (which, by the way, he says he’ll be able to pull off within the year). When I asked him which NBAers he watches when he’s coming up with new ideas, without skipping a beat he said, “There aren’t any, really— I’m not into looking backwards.” It may seem wildly arrogant, but he’s also right.

Aaron Gordon and Zach LaVine blew the NBA world away with their performance at the 2016 Dunk Contest in Toronto last month, but as Kilganon demonstrates in the video below— where he recreates Gordon’s slams from All-Star Saturday Night before showing off a few of his newest works— those NBA dunks are relatively basic compared to what he and his fellow full-time competition dunkers are unleashing on the world. Anyways, check out the video to see what I’m talking about. And, yes, he’s still dunking in jeans:
