Kawhi Leonard among 5 Raptors to miss Friday’s pre-season game

Kawhi Leonard spoke about the feeling of coming back to Toronto after a road trip and his excitement and anticipation of playing in front of Raptors fans.

Kawhi Leonard won’t be making his Toronto Raptors home debut on Friday night.

Leonard, C.J. Miles and Kyle Lowry will all miss the pre-season game against Melbourne United at Scotiabank Arena. OG Anunoby remains out for personal reasons, while Fred VanVleet is dealing with left hamstring tightness.

Leonard played in Toronto’s first two exhibition games, averaging 14.5 points on 45 per cent shooting. Friday is the Raptors’ only game at Scotiabank Arena this pre-season, meaning local fans won’t get a first-hand look at their new superstar until the regular-season opener on Oct. 17.

Anunoby has yet to play for the Raptors this pre-season and has been away from the team.

The Raptors tip off against Melbourne on Friday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
