Kerr: Bulls will knock off Heat in playoffs

While the two-time defending champion Heat have been to the NBA Finals for three straight years, NBA analyst Steve Kerr doesn’t think they will be the first team since the 1984-87 Boston Celtics to make four straight appearances.

“There’s a reason these teams don’t do it,” Kerr told the Los Angeles Times. “Emotionally, it’s just exhausting to keep doing it year after year, particularly when you have to deal with everything Miami has to deal with on a daily basis, just the constant critiquing and scrutiny on the team, and then you factor in the injuries with Wade and Bosh and their health. I don’t think Miami will get out of the East this year.”

Kerr was a member of five NBA title teams including the last team to win three consecutive titles. He was with the Chicago Bulls from 1996-98 which means he should understand how hard the feat is too accomplish.

Kerr believes the Bulls, who finished first during the regular season two years ago but lost star point guard Derrick Rose in the playoffs, will be the team to end Miami’s run.

“I just feel like it’s all sort of teed up for Chicago with Rose coming back, guys like (Joakim) Noah (Taj) Gibson and entering their prime,” Kerr said. “I think Chicago will have something special this year.”
