Kawhi Leonard has been ruled out for the first game of the Toronto Raptors‘ four-game road swing while dealing with a bruised right hip.
The Raptors take on the Los Angeles Clippers Tuesday to kick off a tough trip west in which they’ll also meet Golden State, Portland and Denver.
Leonard participated in the team’s shootaround early Tuesday, while assistant coach Adrian Griffin told media the plan was originally to have Leonard play Tuesday in Los Angeles, according to Sportsnet’s Eric Smith.
The former NBA Finals MVP’s status for Wednesday’s tilt against the Warriors is unclear at this time.
Leonard has yet to play in both halves of a back-to-back set for Toronto this season.
Los Angeles will be without star guard Lou Williams as he deals with a hamstring issue.
