A disheartening injury has put a damper on the Toronto Raptors upcoming season, except it’s not what you might think.
Toronto’s mascot, known as “The Raptor,” tore his Achilles tendon and will miss the 2013-14 season. No details have emerged on how the injury occurred.
The team has plans to replace the costumed dinosaur before the start the regular season, according to the Toronto Star’s Doug Smith.
Toronto begins its season at home against the Boston Celtics on Oct. 30.
