The Toronto Raptors have locked up 2019 draft pick Dewan Hernandez to a multi-year contract, the team announced Saturday.
Hernandez was selected in the second round (59th overall) by the Raptors in the 2019 NBA Draft. The 6-foot-11 centre was forced to miss all of last season after the NCAA suspended him for receiving monthly payments from an agent and for accepting other benefits.
The Miami native appeared in five Summer League games for Toronto averaging 12.8 points and seven rebounds while shooting 41.4 per cent from the field.
In 64 career NCAA games for the Miami Hurricanes, the 22-year-old averaging 8.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 21.6 minutes.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
