The Milwaukee Bucks and centre Brook Lopez have committed to signing a four-year, $52-million contract once free agency opens, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Lopez averaged 12.5 points and 4.9 rebounds in 81 starts with the Bucks last season, playing an integral role on both ends of the court as a shot blocking presence and floor spacer.
The seven-foot centre is coming off a season that saw him knock down a career-high 36.5 per cent of his three-point attempts.
Lopez’s new contract is a sizeable upgrade over his previous contract, as the 31-year-old earned just $3.38 million on a one-year deal with Milwaukee last season.
