When the Raptors play the Detroit Pistons this coming season, Toronto fans will be treated by two familiar faces: Former coach Dwane Casey and former player Jose Calderon.
According to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, the 36-year-old former Raptor has signed a one-year, $2.4-million deal with the Pistons.
A veteran of 13 NBA seasons, Calderon began his NBA career with the Raptors in 2005-06 season, signing as an undrafted rookie after a successful stint in his native Spain’s ACB.
He would remain with the Raptors until January 2013 when he was traded to the Pistons as part of the three-team deal that saw Toronto land Rudy Gay.
Since that first stop with the Pistons, Calderon has bounced around to five other NBA clubs, including the Cleveland Cavaliers last season that saw him average 4.5 points and 2.1 assists in 57 games played.
