Free agent centre Pau Gasol has agreed to a one-year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Gasol, 39, has played 18 seasons in the NBA since the Atlanta Hawks selected the Spaniard with the third-overall pick in the 2001 draft. The Barcelona native split last season between the San Antonio Spurs and Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 3.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 30 games.
Gasol is a six-time all-star and two-time NBA champion, capturing back-to-back titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2009 and 2010.
