The Houston Rockets are trading forward James Ennis to the Philadelphia 76ers, according to The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Houston will receive the rights to swap 2021 second-round picks with the 76ers in exchange.

Through 39 games played this season, Ennis has averaged 7.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game while shooting 37 per cent from three-point range. The 28-year-old earns $1.6 million this season with a player-option in 2019-20 worth $1.8 million.

To make room for Ennis, the 76ers will waive Malachi Richardson. Richardson was acquired yesterday along with a 2022 second-round pick from the Toronto Raptors for the draft rights to Emir Preldzic and cash considerations, according to The Athletic’s Derek Bodner.
