Jonas Valanciunas appears to be headed back to Memphis.

The former Toronto Raptors centre is expected to commit to a three-year, $45-million contract with the Memphis Grizzlies once the NBA’s free-agency period opens at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, reports ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Valanciunas, 27, put up 19.9 points and 10.7 rebounds per game on 54.5 per cent shooting from the field after being acquired by the Grizzlies from the Raptors at last season’s NBA trade deadline.

He was sent to Memphis along with Delon Wright, C.J. Miles and a 2024 second-round draft pick in a trade for Marc Gasol.

Valanciunas had spent 470 games with the Raptors after he was selected by the team fifth overall in the 2011 NBA draft.
