Robert Horry continues to voice his admiration for Hakeem Olajuwon, this time by saying he’s “20 times better than Tim Duncan.”
Horry, who appeared today on The Jump, wasn’t shy to air his opinion when Rachel Nichols asked him whether or not his old Rockets teams would have been able to beat Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls had he not retired. Along with an empathic “hell yeah” as a response, the seven-time champion helped explain why:
“I played with Phil [Jackson], and Phil doesn’t like to double team,” said Horry. “They had nobody that could guard Dream. They had nobody that could guard Dream. I’ma say that twice because Dream was just that dominant. When we played San Antonio one time, and Tim [Duncan] was killing in the block, and Phil refused to double team Tim to get the ball out of his hands.
“And Dream was 20 times better than Tim Duncan.”
It’s hard to compare all-time greats, but if there’s anyone who could provide their take on who’s the better player between Duncan and Olajuwon, it’s Horry – who’s won a championship with both big men.
