Celebrity chef Ayesha Curry’s International Smoke restaurant found success in the Bay Area, but it’s looking like it’ll take a lot of work for it to take off in Houston.
Or maybe just her husband to suddenly forget how to play basketball.
Famous not only for her status as television personality cook, the Toronto-born Ayesha is also the wife of Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry, which made her soft launch of her new barbecue joint problematic to say the least to a still-stung Houston Rockets fan base.
On Tuesday, the Houston location of International Smoke’s Yelp page got flooded with a flurry of negative one-star reviews from Rockets fans who are still very salty over seeing their team lose to the Dubs in the post-season for the third time in four years.

So, it doesn’t look like the good people of Houston are going to be willing to give this establishment a chance. You know, kind of like how the Rockets didn’t give themselves a chance by missing 27 straight threes in Game 7.
