The Toronto Raptors are discussing a trade that would send backup point guard Cory Joseph to the Indiana Pacers.
The news was first reported by Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders and confirmed by Chris Haynes of ESPN.
The move for the Raptors would free up cap space as they look to potentially re-sign starting point guard Kyle Lowry. As for the Pacers, they are looking for help at the guard position after Jeff Teague reportedly signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Joseph, a 25-year-old from nearby Pickering, Ont., averaged 9.3 points, 3.3 assists and 25 minutes in 80 games with the Raptors this past season, his second with the club.
