First, there was a forgettable turn hosting Saturday Night Live. Then, some mildly amusing costume-based comedy at the ESPY’s followed, of course, by last summer’s surprisingly impressive role in the Amy Schumer comedy Trainwreck.
Point is: he’s getting better. And Saturday night might have been LeBron James’ best acting performance yet.
In the first half of the Raptors’ 99-84 win vs. Cleveland in Game 3 of their East Finals series, James was inadvertently elbowed by teammate Tristan Thompson during a skirmish involving Toronto’s Cory Joseph and DeMarre Carroll. Carroll was originally issued a technical foul for his ‘elbow’ on James, which rescinded upon video review.
