Vince Carter is coming back for at least one more NBA season.
The former Toronto Raptors star and current Atlanta Hawks veteran announced his decision Tuesday on his Winging It podcast that he co-hosts with Atlanta teammate Kent Bazemore.
“I’m coming back,” Carter said on the show.
At 42-years-old Carter is the oldest player in the NBA and if he’s able to secure a new contract with the Hawks or another team, he will play in his 22nd NBA season.
Carter is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Since he only averaged 7.4 points per game on 41.2 per cent shooting in just 17.5 minutes per game this season with Atlanta, it’ll be his veteran leadership and what he can do in the locker room that earns him another NBA job as opposed to his productivity.
