Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant left Monday’s Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors after suffering an injury.
Durant hurt his right lower leg and didn’t return to the elimination game.
Durant pulled up after planting his right foot while dribbling early in the second quarter, and went down clutching his leg. He needed assistance getting to his feet and was helped off the court by teammates Steph Curry and Andre Iguodala, visibly frustrated as he headed straight to the Warriors’s dressing room.
He was seen leaving Scotiabank Arena on crutches and wearing a walking boot shortly after.

Golden State had just got Durant back into the lineup for the must-win matchup against the Raptors. The forward initially injured his right calf in Game 5 of the second round of these playoffs and hadn’t played since.
Toronto fans were quick to cheer when Durant first went down, but Raptors Kyle Lowry and Serge Ibaka urged them to stop. The crowd ultimately showed their respect to the player with a “K-D” chant as Durant left the court.
The 30-year-old provided an instant boost to the Warriors early in Game 5, scoring 11 points in 12 minutes of playing time before the injury. The Warriors went on to win 106-105, forcing a Game 6 in Golden State.
