D.C. chillin’. That’s not all rapper Wale will be doing at Washington Wizards games from now on.

The club has hired the 30-year-old Washington native as their creative liaison, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis announced on his website.

“I’m excited to start building as the creative liaison for the Washington Wizards,” the rapper told MTV news. “As a D.C. native and lifelong Wizards fan, this is truly an exciting and organic relationship for me. We’ve got some exciting projects up our sleeve that will roll out throughout the season so be on the lookout.”

The Wizards first home game will take place on Saturday against the Milwaukee Bucks, where Wale will perform live during the player pre-game introductions.

This isn’t the first time Wale has made headlines in association with the Wizards. Here’s a little #TBT for you: He took matters into his own hands during a game between the Toronto Raptors and the Wizards after Raptors TV play-by-play announcer Matt Devlin took some playful jabs at him on air.

Speaking of the Raptors, they also have a rapper in their organization as Toronto native Drake was named the club’s global ambassador in September 2013.
