Alouettes place receiver Austin Mack on six-game injured list

Montreal Alouettes star wide receiver Austin Mack has been placed on the six-game injured list, according to the team’s depth chart released Thursday.

The 27-year-old from Fort Wayne, Ind., had been listed as limited due to an ankle injury on the team’s report.

Mack rejoined the Alouettes last month and signed a four-year contract extension after he was released by the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons.

He had three receptions for 32 yards in his return on Aug. 25 during a 21-17 win over the Edmonton Elks.

Mack completed 78 catches for 1,154 yards and four touchdowns during his rookie season last year to help the Alouettes capture the Grey Cup.

The league-leading Alouettes (10-1-0) are coming off a bye week and return to action Friday hosting the B.C. Lions.
