Darby has appeared in 43 career games for the Argonauts, recording eight interceptions, including a career-high five in 2019. The 29-year-old helped Toronto win the Grey Cup in 2017.
The trade comes with the team announcing that defensive back Mercy Maston will miss the season after suffering a torn Achilles at practice on Sunday.
Poole signed with the Blue Bombers on June 25th after spending the 2020 season in the XFL with the Houston Roughnecks. The 2015 fourth-round pick of the Seattle Seahawks also had brief stints with the Miami Dolphins and Houston Texans before playing in the AAF for the San Diego Fleet in 2019.
