Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris to have surgery on right knee

Saskatchewan Roughriders quarterback Trevor Harris will have surgery after suffering a tibial a plateau fracture of his right knee.

Harris was carted off the field midway through the fourth quarter of Saskatchewan’s game against the Calgary Stampeders.

A tibial plateau fracture occurs at the top of the shin bone and involves the cartilage surface of the knee joint.

The Roughriders said they are optimistic that Harris will make a full recovery. They would not rule out a return at some point later in the season.

Mason Fine will be the team’s starting quarterback moving forward. Saskatchewan is 3-2 this season after losing 33-31 on a late field goal against Calgary but remain third in the CFL’s West Division.
