Andrea Kelly leaves Team McCarville after two seasons

Andrea Kelly, who spent the past two seasons playing third for skip Krista McCarville, has departed from the Northern Ontario team.

The Thunder Bay-based Team McCarville announced Friday on social media that Kelly will return to play out of her home province of New Brunswick.

"While it's hard to see her go, we are deeply grateful for the incredible memories we've shared," the team said. "Her presence both on and off the ice has meant so much to us and she will be truly missed."

Kelly has skipped New Brunswick 11 times at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts and was a bronze medallist in 2022.

She joined Team McCarville in 2023 and has represented Northern Ontario at the past two Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Team McCarville missed the playoffs at last month's Canadian women's curling championship on home ice in Thunder Bay, finishing pool play with a 4-4 record.

McCarville, ranked 35th in the world, competed in three tour events this season, winning a title in Collingwood, Ont., and finishing runner-up in Winnipeg.

The team also includes Kendra Lilly, Ashley Sippala and Sarah Potts.
