It was a successful start to Brendan Bottcher's tenure with his new team as his Edmonton-based club captured the ATB Okotoks Classic title Sunday.
Bottcher completed an undefeated 6-0 run by scoring a single in the extra end to edge Kevin Koe's Calgary club 3-2 during the final in Okotoks, Alta.
The three-time Grand Slam champion Bottcher joined forces with third Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant and lead Ben Hebert amid the off-season shakeup as teams shuffled their lineups to begin the road to the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.
Bottcher's former front end of second Brad Thiessen and lead Karrick Martin linked up with third Tyler Tardi and Koe to form a new squad as well.
The ATB Okotoks Classic was the opening leg of the Players Tour presented by Curling Live. The next stop is the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, Sept. 29 to Oct. 2.
