Brendan Bottcher captured his first title with his all-new Edmonton-based team on Sunday.

Bottcher scored a single in the extra end to edge Kevin Koe's Calgary club 3-2 during Sunday's final at the ATB Okotoks Classic in Okotoks, Alta.

The three-time Grand Slam champion Bottcher joined forces with third Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant and lead Ben Hebert amid the off-season lineup shuffling as teams now prepare for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Bottcher's former front end of second Brad Thiessen and lead Karrick Martin linked up with third Tyler Tardi and Koe to form a new squad as well.

The opening leg of the Players Tour presented by Curling Live featured 24 teams from around the world. The next stop is the Stu Sells Toronto Tankard, Sept. 29 to Oct. 2.
